It's different being a grown up

It snowed about 6" here this weekend, and I was so excited to stay inside and snuggled up in pajamas all weekend. I woke up Saturday morning to little kids playing in the snow outside my building. It made me kind of miss being younger and living at home with all my friends near by and my parents there building fires and fixing us lots of food. Riding 4-wheelers around in the snow with my best friends and sledding all night in the dark. It was never a question that we didn't ever leave the house and drive around town in the snow, but now it's weird to not venture out. I did enjoy staying in most of the weekend and being lazy, until this afternoon when I had to go to the AXiD house and a group meeting. It would have been a lot more fun to be with my friends and playing all weekend, but I love being home, getting time alone, and trying to catch up on homework. I'm so happy that we've kept power throughout the weekend and I was lucky enough to make it to Target for a new coffeemaker since mine decided to quit on me today.

Since I've had plenty of time at home I finally downloaded Skype after harrassment from my brother and sister. I got to talk to my mom and brother in VA and my sister and brother-in-law in FL. I'm know I'm so late with getting on the Skype bandwagon, and now I'm so mad I didn't download it a long time ago. It's awesome! I was able to see the snow in VA and give my brother-in-law a tour of my apartment. If you don't have it and have family and friends far away I highly suggest it.

Here's to hoping we're out of work tomorrow - but I'll happily settle for a delay of any type! Again, it's so different being a grown up. Work doesn't close for the tiniest bit of snow.
