Supporting our troops

I just got off Skype with my sister and brother-in-law. One last Skype session while he's still in the US. He leaves tomorrow morning, about 9:30am, to start his 6 month deployment. I hate it for my sister and my nephew, and really the whole family, but this is why he joined the Navy and what he's trained for for years.

I know it doesn't make it any easier, but I've tried to find a little silver lining.
Em can sleep in the middle of the bed now.
She won't have to worry about J stealing her food out of the fridge.
At least the Navy only deploys for 6 months and not a year, or more.
If you don't want to cook dinner, you don't have to.

I'm also very aware that these are silly when thinking about your husband being deployed for 6 months. But she'll be fine, and so will my nephew, and so will J. And just think about how exciting things will be in 6 months!

So let's begin the countdown and the praying. For J, for his family, for the guys he'll be with overseas, and for the leaders that decide what happens in the world while he's gone.
