I moved out of my apartment Tuesday-Thursday last week. My goal on Thursday was to be out and on the road by 10am. Didn't quite achieve that goal and finally made it on the road by 3pm to start my 8 hour drive to Cincinnati.
After driving on what is certainly the most terrifying road I've ever driven on I finally made it to Cincy and to a friend's friend's house at 11pm to find numerous bottles of wine waiting. yay. We ended up hanging out until about 3am, which may not have been my best move, but it was a fun time. Friday morning I got up to see the bride and learn how to bustle her dress from the seamstress. Grabbed a Graeter's donut and headed back for a homemade mani/pedi before the bridal luncheon. Unfortunately it was rainy that afternoon because the bride and her mom had planned a nice luncheon including a pool party. Would've been awesome, but the luncheon was fun either way. We got amazing jewelry that I'm obsessed with and a Waterford bowl or vase from the bride.
Saturday we walked around downtown (aimlessly looking for a Walgreen's that wasn't open yet) grabbed a coffee and finally found an open Walgreen's. After a quick shower we were picked up at the hotel and were on our way to the bride's house for food (MOTB had a nice little casserole for us girls) as we waited for the hair and makeup routines to commence. That took up most of the day, but everyone looked amazing. We stopped at a park before making the final stop at the church. The ceremony was perfect and no one ugly cried - except maybe the groom but we didn't actually witness that. Oh, and now, Kim and Brad are married. So I guess that part was pretty cool.
Reception at the Bell Center was amazing! An old church converted into an event space with tons of candles everywhere. It was awesome. I was nervous the whole day for my toast, but I think I did a pretty good job. I tried to hold the mic low so if I did screw up or sound nervous very few people would hear me.
This happened on my way home. That drive is terrible. All that floating and off-roading can be exhausting.
All in all, I'd call it a successful wedding and weekend. And now I hate the newlyweds because they're in Punta Cana and I'm not.
