Well, I've made it to the hotel safe and sound, and am waiting on waffles to arrive in my room. Luckily everything was on time this morning and I had no travel issues.
My day started with the 2:45am alarm and 3:45am departure for RDU. As soon as I got in the car I realized I had no chapstick with me, so I purchased some immediately when I got to the airport. Which I then immediately left sitting on the counter and went through security. After security I walked directly to Starbucks - thank God they were open. While in line for coffee I realized I still had no chapstick, so before 5am today I had: driven to Raleigh, checked in for my flight, purchased 2 chapsticks and chugged a latte.
The flight was fine, despite the crazy noises the plane kept making. The driver waiting for me was so cute, with my sign attached to his shirt. My sign that clearly read "Mr. Erin". Ahh I love it. I chatted with him in the car and as to be expected we ended up talking about 9/11. He told me that he was driving over the same bridge we were on at the exact time one of the planes hit one of the towers and he had a clear view of it all. Pretty crazy to think he watched it happen from a few miles away, and I think everyone remembers where they were when it happened.
On to a happier note, I'm going to lay in this bed for a couple of hours before I have to get ready for lunch. Which will feel like it should be dinner. Unfortunately I forgot my camera cord, so I'll have a photo montage when I get back home.
** change of plans - going to meet the guys at the golf course to hang out for the morning.
