Easter recap

As you may remember we took a road trip to Florida to visit my sister and her family for Easter. The journey started with a 4:25am wake up call and what seemed like the longest trip to Florida ever. Lots of stopping. We made it in time to take my nephew to an Easter egg hunt on base. This was a massive egg hunt, that took place on 4 softball fields with the kids broken into different age groups. The nugget didn't really care about picking up eggs, I think he got 2 on his own. Some random kid put one in his basket too. Here he is watching the big kids go at each other.

The next morning we went to eat at Metro Diner, which is a family favorite. It's also been on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, so that's kind of fun. There is always a wait, which is slightly annoying, but normally worth it. The portions here are insane, no one should be able to finish their plate in one sitting.

Banana granola pancake. Bigger than the plate. Yes please.

We had a pretty relaxing trip that included time at the Riverside Arts Market, lots of yard and house work, and lots of eating and napping. My dad's birthday happened and we celebrated at a crazy restaurant called Outback Crab Shack. I would only recommend this place for a beer and people watching.
Evidence of the crab and huge portions here too. Crawdaddies anyone?

Easter Sunday was pretty laid back with some Easter treats and a mini egg hunt, Bubba winning the Masters, furniture buying, and grilling out. Not a terrible way to spend Easter I don't think.
I miss him already!
